You Know It's Working When...

Because the weight loss is fairly slow on this plan, many people who are used to a "quick fix" might get discouraged.  Very few people I know of who do it sanely in moderation ever turn back.  Once you're used to real food, the fake food tastes fake.  However, some people get set back by a pregnancy, getting too busy, and sometimes weird dysfunctional family stuff.

Sometimes, when you've been sick in a way for a long time, the people in your family unconsciously sabotage you.  It's not something they mean to do, but well, to be really blunt, becoming a better person means having more options, whether that's spiritually, intellectually, or physically.  Changing your diet can hit all three, and in time you become this wonderful, often more physically beautiful person with totally different prospects and maybe even a different worldview than you had before.

Some folks in the blogosphere (the blogging community) say the changes when a person loses a great deal of weight or is well on their way causes something called "former fatty syndrome".  In order to get through that, you'll need to know what to expect, and how to deal with the possible relationship problems that come with becoming healthier even before you've gotten back down to your optimal weight.  See, when you're really healthier, even if you're still a bit chubby, few but Gay fashion designers will notice that much.  You'll be awesome.

You'll know the natural diet is working when...

You can't sit still.

Even when you're sitting still, you're not sitting still.  It feels like you've become almost hyperactive.  You want to go out more often, but hold your horses.  Your going out more might upset your partner if you're out partying and hanging out, and spending less time with them.  Try going out with your partner since hopefully you've got them on a natural diet, so their energy will be up too.

You have less tolerance for synthetic flavors.

This might make you seem more critical and snobby since more people will smell bad to you.  Try not to actually turn up your nose to people.  It might be very difficult when things like fake vanilla and grape flavor become nauseating, but do your best.

You become a more picky eater, and don't like to eat out except at barbecue joints and real Mediterranean restaurants.

One day you will slip up and have some chips fried in canola oil, and experience something you haven't since your last flu.  From then on when your friends want to go somewhere they don't cook naturally, you will decline with the look on your face reminiscent of the post canola incident.  Try calling around to find out if there are any natural restaurants.  It's as simple as asking what kind of oil they fry with, and whether or not they use pancake mix or actually ferment their batter and such.  Then you can suggest alternatives to your friends that won't result in your running a one minute mile with no warmup.

You will get sick much less often.

When it has been a couple of years and you have only had the sniffles at the most, you know you're doing very well.  Your immune system has improved greatly.  You will want to tell people you see suffering, how to keep from getting so sick so often.  Be careful about that.  The one time in a decade you get the flu, they will taunt you.

You will have more resistance to the elements.

If you dress modestly all the time, it might not be a problem, but if not then you might get accused of underdressing.  Don't let it bother you too much.  It's pretty nice to be able to wear those cute fall skirts in the actual fall season.
