Exercise

Eating right is only half of the story in weight loss.  You also need to get enough exercise.  What kind of exercise you need depends on your indvidual strengths and preferences.  Some people do really well with going to the gym to work out, while some do better in a home gym.  Still others need to go outside and get some air and endure the weather to feel okay.

Once you have the energy from eating well, you will get jittery and nervous if you don't find something to do.  It should however, be something you'll be motivated to stick with.  Here are some things that have worked well for me and others I know.

Dancing

Dancing is easy to do, and doesn't require too much space or any special equipment.  My personal favorite is belly dancing because it really works the core muscles, makes many things about being a woman easier, and is lots of fun for me and my husband.  I think every woman should learn belly dance.  For those who might be a bit conservative, you should know that it is a very Christian thing to do.  Since the time of Christ and before, women have gotten together in girls only gatherings to dance and share.  It's a traditional art for women.

Walk and a Picnic

Walking is one of the easiest ways to exercise, but a good way to get the family and friends on board is to pack a picnic.  Pick a location that's a fair distance away, and walk together to have a nice lunch or dinner in the outdoors.

Get a Manual Labor Job

...or start a manual labor business.  If you're a person who works a sedentary job, you may be making good money at it, but paying with your health.  If you could make just as much and get the same benefits working fewer hours at the sedentary job while working also at manual labor, you should try it.  If you're retired already then what are you waiting for?

If you can't moonlight or don't want to start a business, you can always volunteer.  Animal shelters always need people, as do after school programs to prevent latchkey kids.  For the price of a good gym membership, you can get a child care license, and start your own free program for friends and family, and have access to the same state resources as others.  The government doesn't care if you take money for it or not so long as you're certified and safe.  Bonus if you can serve as a substitute teacher when homeschooling parents want to take a vacation.

Speaking of which, house sitting for people with lots of pets or a small farm will keep you busy too.

Join a Walking, Biking, or Swimming Club or Sports Team

Having a group of people doing the same thing, or a team with which to get some healthy competition will keep you motivated.  Your fitness becomes more than your business, and useful to help others stay fit and win games.
