- 6 cups cooked wild rice
- 1 large onion or 1/2 cup wild onions or chives, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or hazelnuts, or sunflower seeds
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 1 green chile or sweet pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1 cup chopped crab meat, surimi, or cooked oysters
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons animal fat or butter
- 1/4 teaspoon sage
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper if you didn't use chiles
- 1 teaspoon gray salt
